What You Can Do

Respond To The Need For Diverse Voices

In a democracy, the people—all the people—must be part of the conversation and decision-making about crucial issues. There is no more crucial question today than how we should use new technologies that are changing the course of human reproduction and the meaning of human nature.

Recognize That These Are New Technologies, But Old Dilemmas

Don’t be fooled into thinking that only scientists can understand these matters. The technologies may be new, but the dilemmas they pose are not. They raise age-old issues of equality and fairness, individuality and community, freedom and limits—issues that we, as caregivers, are fully competent to tackle.

Engage With People Across Political Differences

Wherever we stand on the political spectrum, no matter our opinions on controversial issues, we all need to take the time to get up to speed on these unprecedented technologies, to reflect on what they mean for us and for our children, and to help spark a public conversation about them.

Spark the Conversation

We urge you to use the resources and links provided here to inform yourself about the new technologies and their implications, spark conversations about them with your family, friends, and neighbors, and get involved as you see fit.
